Awareness- Schools & Cultural groups

Under the umbrella of CancerOne College, celeBritys4africA takes cancer outreach to schools and cultural groups in Cameroon. The goal is to reach out to both the young and the old with the hope of eliminating preventable cancers. Our team educates students as early as age of 10 years old. While we have strong focus on young adults who will become leaders of the community tomorrow, we nonetheless reach out to adults as partnering with them and their cultural groups increases our chances of success in the fight against cancer. We cannot fight cancer with regards only on one segment of the population. Our approach is deep, diversified and incorporative...

Treating cancer is very expensive globally. In Africa, resources are scarce and most people only go to the hospital when their disease is at an advanced stage. Our Lady of Mount Camel, Buea

As our car drove into the school premise, you could hear excitement in the voices of the students who had already congregated in the school auditorium. After greeting and introductions, the Principal, Reverend Sister Agnes, expressed her gratitude on behalf of her staff and students not only for our time, but our dedication and sacrifice. She stressed to the audience the importance of attentiveness as cancer is a killer and a boiling issue. Our day was blessed with an opening prayer from one of the young students. It was only after this official process that our lead volunteer for the day, Andrea took to the podium. She talked more on cervical cancer and breast cancer hitting hard on...

Seventh Day Adventist, Limbe

With a healthy body, praise and worship can be delivered. It was against this background that celeBritys4africA was invited by the Seven Day Adventist Church at their National convention holding in Limbe Cameroon. The church and its leaders recognized the growing trend of cancer occurrences in Cameroon and subsequent high cancer mortality (especially in the areas of breast, cervical and liver cancers) contacted our team to talk to its congregation. Our team was headed by Mr Ning Elijah and our lead volunteer, Dr Trixy Franke, a fellow member of this denomination, held the atmosphere spellbound with cancer details and facts. Dr Trixy elaborated to the congregation of about 800 people, on the need to prevent cervical, breast, liver,...

Saker Baptist College, Limbe

Dr Kuna Fombutu teaming together with Dr Christella Ajong formed our duo up front as our footsoldiers matched into Saker Baptist College Limbe. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Our reception from the staff of this historical institution was of beyond “Michelin” standard. Both the staff and entire student body, clustered in a medium sized auditorium with anxious nerves to receive our message. Dr Ajong took to the floor talking about breast cancer. After interactively answering the many questions from the audience, Dr Fombutu in partnership with Dr Ajong, went crazy on cervical cancer. At the end of the day, a lot of cancer myths were demystified and the students retired to their respective dormitories vowing to take...
